AMPP SSPC certification updates

Starting May 1, 2024, all applicator/craftworker certifications will be in the AMPP brand. They will also have a standard renewal period of 4 years, and will no longer require a renewal exam. For renewals, all credentials will require 1,000 hours of work experience, except for CAS Level 2 which requires 1,500 hours and 72 hours of formal training.

Please note, there are no changes to the naming or other aspects of these certifications to keep them easily recognized in the field.

  • Spray Applicator Certification (C12)
  • Coatings Application Specialist (CAS) Level 2
  • Marine Plural Component (C14) Certification
  • Surface Preparation and Paint Application for Power Tool Cleaning Operators and Brush and Roll Paint Applicators (C6) Certification
  • Aerospace Coating Application Specialist (ACAS) Certification
  • Plural Component Application for Polyureas and High Solid Coatings (PLURAL)
  • Waterjetting Program (C13) Certification
  • Thermal Applicator Level 2 Certification

Renewal instructions

  1. Step 1 - Download your recertification application

    We have all of the application forms available for you below.

  2. Step 2 - Fill out your form

    Fill out the PDF form with all of your information and details for your recertification requirements.

  3. Step 3 - Send your form to AMPP

    Submit your form back to AMPP by email. An AMPP staff member will process your form and reach out to you with a link for secure payment information. If any additional information is required, our dedicated staff will be in touch. Your application is typically processed within 2-3 days – Some renewals take longer to process but your certification stays current during this time to ensure you retain the benefits of your hard-earned credential.
