Who we are

NACE International, The Worldwide Corrosion Authority, was established in 1943 by eleven corrosion engineers from the pipeline industry as the “National Association of Corrosion Engineers.”

Today, NACE serves nearly 36,000 members in over 130 countries and is recognized globally as the premier authority for corrosion control solutions. The organization offers technical training and certification programs, conferences, industry standards, reports, publications, technical journals, government relations activities and more.

NACE International is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with offices in San Diego, California; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Shanghai, China, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Government Relations

NACE International develops and executes legislative strategies centered on the policy issues that matter to our members. By working with policy makers, the association ensures the voice of corrosion industry professionals is heard and legislators are informed of the importance of corrosion control. NACE International staff has been instrumental in raising awareness on Capitol Hill through coordination of legislative fly ins, submission of Congressional Testimony, letter writing campaigns, and in the development of the Corrosion Prevention Caucus.

NACE and SSPC news

In March of 2019, NACE International, The Worldwide Corrosion Authority and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings, announced the initiation of exploratory discussions about synergistic opportunities that may exist between the two organizations. The discussions were initiated by the board officers of each organization who recognize the complementary nature of each respective organization's mission, products, and services. Over the next few months, NACE and SSPC staff and leadership will convene to discuss possible benefits and challenges of the concept. NACE governance and organizational structure

NACE International is a member-driven organization led by its board of directors, who set the tone and direction for organizational operations. The board of directors works directly with NACE’s CEO to provide leadership and guidance to the organization’s staff, members, and customers all around the world.
