IMPACT PLUS Qualified Navigator

This qualification is designed for experienced corrosion management professionals wishing to further their skills related to asset protection through corrosion management for their respective company and/or customer. Navigators should possess the corrosion management expertise and consulting skills needed to advise organizations on their present and future asset protection/corrosion management strategies.

A successful Qualified Navigator candidate will ensure the complete and successful use of the IMPACT PLUS platform for their companies and or customers. Specifically, they will:

  • Provide step-by-step consultation throughout the tool’s assessment process ensuring results yield high integrity data and will aid organizations in strategic decisions
  • Evaluate and compare an organization’s current asset management strategies; coordinate personnel at various levels in the organization to facilitate alignment or identify gaps in corrosion management knowledge and/or approaches
  • Interpret and analyze assessment and advise organizations where to make corrosion management plan investments
  • Recommend best strategies for moving corrosion management to the next level

Building on what was learned about the Corrosion Management Strategy (CMS), the Navigator Training challenges students to move from understanding a CMS to hone their consultancy and guidance skills on how to implement a CMS into an existing business model. Attendees will learn how to interpret aggregate data and translate it for clients, benchmark an organization’s existing CMS against other companies, and make recommendations on how to guide entities to the next level of corrosion prevention and asset management.
